Preliminary Love Musings

In celebration and preparation for Valentines Day, I posted an open forum question on Facebook:

"Love. How do you define it?"

Responses arose that felt both varied and vibrant. Here are a few...

"Love is hard. Loving is the hardest you'll ever fight without having a a clear end picture of what you're fighting for - but its never fighting against your love, its fighting with them - fighting for the same side. Love is exhausting, but its being exhausted on the couch next to your best friend at the end of the day and its happiness."

"Love is a meeting of two souls, fully accepting the dark and the light within each other."

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."

"Love is a connection, connection of all kinds."

"Love is caring."

For me, it felt warming to see the variation and depth from people in the close circles of social media. It seems as many definitions exist as there are people. What is your definition?
